Food, Nutrition and Health
MSU Extension county-based educators provide research-based educational programming
on how to maximize food resources to promote good nutrition, and health. In addition,
there are programs available for people who have limited financial resources. Groups
and individuals learn basic nutrition, menu planning, shopping skills, food safety,
household budgeting, and food selection through experiential activities. The Family
Nutrition Program (FNP) provides food and nutrition education to individuals and
families who are eligible for or receiving Food Stamps. The Expanded Food and Nutrition
Education Program (EFNEP) provide education to help low-income families with young
children stretch their food dollars and enhance their family’s nutrition.
