Adult Protective Services
Report Elder Abuse
The Department of Human Services is mandated by law to investigate cases of suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation towards vulnerable adults, through Adult Protective Services.
Adult Protective Services investigators protect vulnerable adults by coordinating with mental health, public health, law enforcement, the probate courts, the aging network, community groups and
the general public. Anyone can make a report as soon as there is reasonable cause to believe an adult is in danger of harm. All reports are confidential, and the reporting person’s name cannot
be revealed except by court order.
If you suspect abuse, neglect or exploitation, call 855-444-3911 any time day or night to make a report. Staff will investigate allegations within 24 hours after the report is received.
United Way 2-1-1

2-1-1 is available by phone, text and online. A call to 2-1-1 connects you to a community resource specialist in your area who can help you find services and resources that are available
to you locally and provide critical services that can improve lives. Supplemental food and nutrition programs, housing and utilities assistance, services for veterans, and health care information
are just a few examples of what 2-1-1 can assist with.
