Case Process

A felony is any crime for which a person can be sent to state prison for more than one year.

Generally speaking, a misdemeanor is any crime for which a person can receive up to one year in the county jail.

Juvenile court deals with offenses involving children who are under the age 17 at the time the offense was committed.
